Flat steel, also known as flat bar, is a thin, long steel strip, usually with a width ranging from 10mm to 100mm and a thickness ranging from 1mm to 10mm. It is an important material in many different fields, including construction, machinery, various industrial and civil applications.

Hot-rolled flat steel is a long steel strip with a rectangular cross-section, usually used for components, escalators, bridges and fences. Due to its smooth surface and large load-bearing capacity, hot-rolled flat steel is often used in occasions that require welding, such as making components, escalators and fences. In addition, hot-rolled flat steel can also be used as welded pipe blanks and slabs for laminated thin plates.
