Overview
304 stainless steel is a universal stainless steel material with stronger anti-rust performance than 200 series stainless steel materials. It is also relatively good in high temperature resistance, which can reach 1000-1200 degrees. 304 stainless steel has excellent stainless corrosion resistance and good resistance to intergranular corrosion. For oxidizing acid, the experiment shows that 304 stainless steel has strong corrosion resistance in nitric acid below the boiling temperature with a concentration of ≤65%. It also has good corrosion resistance to alkaline solutions and most organic and inorganic acids.
304 (18Cr-8Ni) material: As a widely used steel, it has good corrosion resistance/heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties; good hot processing properties such as stamping/bending, no heat treatment hardening phenomenon (no magnetism, convenient use temperature -196℃~800℃). Uses: Household items (1/2 types of tableware/cabinets/indoor pipelines/water heaters/boilers/bathtubs), auto parts (windshield wipers/mufflers/molded products), medical equipment, building materials, chemicals, food industry, agriculture, ship parts.
304 stainless steel is a common material among stainless steels, with a density of 7.93 g/cm3, and is also called 18/8 stainless steel in the industry. It is resistant to high temperatures of 800℃, has good processing performance and high toughness, and is widely used in industry, furniture decoration industry, and food and medical industry.
Common marking methods on the market include 06Cr19Ni10 and SUS304, of which 06Cr19Ni10 generally indicates national standard production, 304 generally indicates ASTM standard production, and SUS 304 indicates Japanese standard production.
304 is a general-purpose stainless steel that is widely used in the manufacture of equipment and parts that require good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability). In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, the steel must contain more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel is a grade of stainless steel produced according to the American ASTM standard.
